Prayer news from Asia

  • The ministry of SGM Lifewords in India involves using our Inspire resources and other programmes to sow seeds of faith within communities. Testimonies that are shared show how the Bible’s life words speak in to people’s lives. Among them this year is the story of a young Muslim boy. Given a copy of Forgiveness Matters by a friend, he shared how “This touched my heart and birthed a hunger in me to know more about Jesus”. Later he asked for a Bible. Please pray that in the coming year we may hear yet more stories of people coming to faith through the Bible’s life words.
  • Last month we told you about The Visible Story programme in Indonesia, and asked you to pray for the safety of students at programme partner SETIA Bible College after violent attacks on their property. The situation is still volatile. Please continue to hold the students, the work of the college, and The Visible Story partnership in your prayers. Thank you.
  • Stories continue to flow each month about the impact of SGM Lifewords Pavement Project’s Picture Me counselling process for at-risk children and young people. Praise God for every life transformed as children experience the care of Christian workers, and share the story of what’s happened to them. This month, join Ellie* (a Pavement Project worker in the Philippines) in thanking God for his work in the life of Tomas*, a young man she counselled through Pavement Project. Tomas is now a youth leader in the project Ellie works for, and is growing in faith.
